Veda Slovena Bulgarian Choir is a London based mixed-voice choir specialising in traditional Bulgarian sacred and secular vocal music.

Following in the footsteps of such distinguished predecessors as the world famous Le Mystere de Voix Bulgares, who won a Grammy award in 1989 and brought Bulgarian folk to world-wide audiences, we are committed to preserving and celebrating this unique style of singing.

We are named after a mystery ourselves – Veda Slovena, “The Vedas of the Slavs”, was a compilation of folk songs from Thrace and Macedonia published in 19 c., which is still considered a mystification.

With an international cast of singers we are a living proof that true musical beauty and wisdom know no borders – neither national nor spiritual.

The choir is led by native Bulgarian singer Eugenia Georgieva, who provides vocal training, choral advice and pronunciation coaching. Our home is University College London.

Established in early 2013, our group went on to become Choir of the Day in the Open category of the Croydon audition round of Choir of the Year 2014 and has performed extensively, most notably at Brandenburg Choral Festival, Sangerstevne International, The Convent in Stroud, The Green Note, Chorus Festival at the Southbank and Voices Now 2015 at the Roundhouse. Veda Slovena were special guests on A World In London on Resonance FM and performed on The Choir on BBC Radio 3 live from the Roundhouse.
